Good question. To tell the truth I applied to study veterinary medicine at university but I didn’t get in because my predicted A level grades weren’t good enough (even though in the end I got the required grades). So instead I studied a biochemistry degree with the idea of applying for veterinary medicine again after I graduated. But during my degree I realised that I really enjoyed being the lab doing research and I wanted to do it for my job, so I applied to do a PhD and that got me where I am today.
If you have any other questions, just let me know 🙂
To be honest, I never considered becoming a vet just because my heart was set on becoming a doctor. Whilst studying to become a doctor, I developed a passion for research and this led me to pursuit becoming a scientist alongside being a doctor.
