I think my main role model is my boss. She is also a scientist but unlike the stereotypical scientist she is very down to earth and understanding. She is also very driven and dedicated to her work which I find inspiring. She is an amazing woman to work for and supports my career which is very appreciated as science can be very competitive and it is great to have support.

Then of course there is also Mr Spock from star trek (my fictional role model) just love the logic.

Who this is a tricky one for me. I guess I don’t really have a specific role model but lots of people around me influence me. Initially I wanted to do well for myself and my family and i was inspired by my teachers. As a scientist I was interested in Isaac Newton and Einstein, but also current scientists like Prof. Brian Cox and Stephen Hawkins. Not in my field of science but inspirational and show us what we can all achieve. I hope I can be a role model for future generations.

      Tough one!

My role model was (and perhaps still is!) a lady called Jane Wardle. She was my mentor throughout my PhD and beyond and helped to show me that psychology could be used to do good in the world. Unfortunately, she died last year and this had a huge impact on her colleagues and the field she was in.

I have lots of people who I currently look up to that I’ve never met. For example, Daniel Kahnemann is a pretty inspiring man – he won a nobel prize in economics by showing the world that people don’t make good decisions. And that by assuming that people do make good decisions, the world economy was at risk. A very inspiring man who I would like to meet!
